Delegation of the European Commission to Bulgaria

is seeking to recruit a

TRANSLATOR/INTERPRETER

Duties and responsibilities:

• Translation of incoming or internal documentation from the Bulgarian or French into English, as required by the Delegation; translation of legislation; translation of press articles on Bulgaria-EU relations and of letters from central government institutions, local government bodies, NGOs and private persons.

• Interpretation at official meetings and talks; interpretation for missions to Bulgaria; other relevant functions, as required by the Delegation.

• Keeping a full record of all the translation jobs, according to the requirements of the Delegation.

• Any other tasks assigned by the Head of Delegation.

Requirements:

• Excellent knowledge of English.

• Good knowledge of other(s) EU language will be considered as additional merit.

• Good knowledge of EU institutions and of legal terminology.

• Relevant working experience as translator/interpreter of at least 5 years.

• Bulgarian citizenship.
