The draft of European standard prEN 15038 on the provision of quality translation services has caused considerable confusion and concern among freelance and corporate translators for various reasons, if only because access to it has been hampered.

It encompasses the translation process and all other steps involved in providing the relevant service. One of the key issues is quality assurance and the ability to trace its progress.
